Center of Portugal

The Center of Portugal is the largest and most diverse tourist region of Portugal. It is a vast region with a huge cultural, gastronomic and landscape diversity. Witness of countless historical battles that defended nationality, it is a region of contrasts, place of faith, walled cities and rich gastronomy, in which each plate served to the table tells a little of our history.

In the countryside, mountain ranges and traditional villages. Next to the sea, fishing villages and cosmopolitan beaches with water sports set the pace of the day. And everywhere, the millenarian heritage proudly displays the history of the region. Some of these places are so important to mankind that they have been included by UNESCO in the World Heritage list. This is the case of the Alcobaça Monastery and the Batalha Monastery, the Convent of Christ in Tomar and the University of Coimbra.
To comfort the stomach there are flavors for all palates: cheese and sausages, fresh seafood and delicious meat, or the honey and the conventual sweets. The wines of the region elevate the spirit with distinction. These recipes live in the knowledge of its local people, genuine and welcoming people who offer every visitor the best they have.
