Óbidos is a charming village full of history.
Nowadays known as a romantic medieval village, surrounded by walls, narrow streets and whitewashed houses covered with flowers, vases and tiles.
When you go to Óbidos you must taste the well-known local liquor: “Ginginha”.
Heading north we will find the famous fishermen village that is one of the most fascinating places on Portuguese coastline: Nazaré.
Nazaré enjoys a privileged position, facing of a fine sandy beach, also known for its excellent fish that the Atlantic offers every day.
Even though it is a typical fishermen village, nowadays it is known worldwide as a surf destination, since the world record for the largest wave ever surfed, 30 meters (100 feet), at Praia do Norte in November 2011.
