Lisbon witnessed the heroic feats of the Portuguese maritime expansion in the 15th and 16th centuries.
Some of the profits from the Portuguese Discoveries were used in the construction of large monuments, mainly in the area of Belém, in a unique Portuguese architectural style, “Manuelino”.

Known as the city of seven hills, the Portuguese capital is like a book where its monuments tell you their history. Lisbon is a special city with unique features: the sound of the old electric trams going up and down the cobbled streets, the echo of Fado in various places of the city, an authentic treasure of historic buildings, but also a city open to new trends and a shopping paradise.
